v2.3.0

Thank you for your continued interest in VTubeTiny!

The 2.3.0 update is mostly focused on usability and features, but there's definitely a lot to talk about!

Editor

First and foremost, the UI has undergone a bit of an update! We no longer use the ugly Dear ImGui defaults, instead allowing the user to style the editor the way they want, by exposing a proper theme configuration file!

The old (and only back then) editor theme (*vomit*)

The new default editor theme (WOW!)

And yes, the entire theming system is exposed to users! By opening the res/editortheme.json file, you too can make your editor look fabulous! (Who doesn't want some hot pink comic sans action in their life?)

While on the topic of the editor, the default behavior when launching VTubeTiny is now to actually open the editor. Back then, VTubeTiny would launch into a blank stage, with nothing to do in it, which was a bit counter intuitive. If you want to open your stage in the viewer like before, just launch VTubeTiny with the -s parameter, like so:

./VTTiny.exe -s -f <stage file path>

New Features

This release of VTubeTiny also comes with some completely new features! The biggest of which is probably the addition of GIF support to textures! You can now also be a GIFTuber in addition to being a PNGTuber!

To import GIF files, just drag and drop them into the asset browser, the same way you'd import any regular texture. The newly animated texture will just work with any component that uses texture assets!

Another cool feature is the addition of the speaking color changer component! A lot of PNGTubers prefer when their avatar is dimmed when not speaking, and colored when speaking. Adding this new component to your model will allow you to set the desired tint of your avatar when you're speaking and not!

Additionally, for speaking enhancements, the audio movement component can now be edited to limit the amount of times a character jumps when talking! Want your avatar to only jump once, twice, or maybe even 12 times? You can now set a hard cap for that! (The default is still infinite jumping, though)

And finally, there have been some architectural changes to the simple character animator.  It now has the ability to define an image for when a character is both speaking and blinking. Furthermore, the only required state texture now is the idle state texture. The animator skips showing states that don't exist. (So, if your model doesn't have a blinking or a speaking animation, the animator will instead show the idle animation).

This should be all for this update! Thank you to everyone who has downloaded VTubeTiny over the past week (and massive thank you to everyone who donated! It massively motivates me to work more on it!)

I still have a lot of ideas on what features to add, plus some other things for VTubeTiny, so this definitely won't be the last of them!

And as always, if you want to contribute to VTubeTiny, check out the project page at GitHub over here: https://github.com/naomiEve/VTubeTiny, and if you have any requests or bugs, please leave them here!

Cheers!
